Responder
Proven at the Formula 1 Grand Prix du Canada

Every first responder, live, on one map.

Responder gives dispatchers real-time situational awareness of every first responder, and gives responders the same view of each other. Teams change their status from the phone, open and close medical cases on scene, and call for backup with one tap. It works like Citycare, with cases instead of tasks.

How it works

From the call to the outcome, in real time.

Step 1

Open a case

From the console, from a 911 or radio call, or straight from a responder’s phone on scene.

Step 2

See everyone live

Every responder on the map with a live status: available, en route, on a case or needs help.

Step 3

Send the right team

Assign the closest available team in one click. They get the alert, accept and navigate.

Step 4

Stay connected

Responders see each other, message dispatch and teammates, and call for backup with one tap.

Step 5

Close with the outcome

The crew closes the case from the phone. Every step is time-stamped for the report.

Formula 1 Grand Prix du Canada

Three race days. 352,000 spectators.
One live map.

At Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve in Montréal, the on-site medical team ran the entire race weekend on Responder. For the first time, dispatchers saw where every first responder was, in real time, with more than 200 online across the venue.

  • Dispatch saw every team and its status, live, across both islands.
  • Responders saw each other: who was free, who was on a case, who needed help.
  • Crews opened and closed medical cases from their phones, on scene.
  • Teams messaged each other and dispatch without crowding the radio.

Accounts were created on site as crews arrived. Responders watched a 30-second video and started using the app right away. With barely 10 minutes of training, dispatchers coordinated more than 200 people.

Use cases

Wherever people need help fast.

The same live map, statuses and cases serve paramedics, firefighters, outreach workers, civil security teams, citizen responders and event organizers.

Emergency medical services

Paramedic services and first responder teams see every unit live, dispatch the closest one and follow each case to its outcome.

  • Live status of every unit
  • Faster assignment, fewer radio calls
  • Time-stamped record of every case

Fire departments

Firefighters and first responder brigades share one map with dispatch, on calls and during large incidents.

  • Who is available, at a glance
  • Backup requested in one tap
  • Works alongside your CAD and radio

Psychosocial outreach and the homeless

Municipal workers and volunteers log and track requests for help from people living in the metro, in parks and in encampments, and coordinate who goes where, especially in winter.

  • Every request logged and located
  • Volunteers and staff coordinated in real time
  • Resources mobilized where they are needed

Civil security and emergency preparedness

Build Responder into your municipal emergency plan. When disaster strikes, everyone helping downloads the app and is coordinated in real time within minutes.

  • Ready before the emergency
  • Responders onboarded in minutes
  • One live picture for the command post

Citizen responders and 911

States and provinces can let 911 dispatch locate available citizen responders in real time, professionals off duty or trained volunteers. In remote areas, life-saving help can be just down the street to start CPR or first aid while paramedics arrive.

  • Closest qualified responder alerted
  • CPR started minutes sooner
  • Fits into existing 911 dispatch

Event organizers

Grand Prix, festivals, marathons, concerts and stadiums: hundreds of medical and safety staff on one live map, onboarded on the day.

  • Onboard staff on the day
  • Field crews open and close cases
  • A complete post-event report
Connected community care

Neighbours helping neighbours.

When an ambulance is minutes away, a trained person down the street can start care right now. 911 dispatchers alert the closest qualified responder, who accepts, navigates and can open a live call with the paramedics on the way.

Paul-André Savoie

Why I built ResponderBefore three decades as an entrepreneur, I was a paramedic, including as a certified neonatal prehospital intensive care flight paramedic. I learned on the front line that minutes decide outcomes, and that ambulances often can’t get there fast enough, especially outside our cities. Responder is my answer: put the closest trained person on the way while paramedics are en route, and give every dispatcher and responder the same live picture. Paul-André Savoie, founder and CEO

I tell the whole story in my article on our blog.
